Next, multiple layers of fiberglass or composite materials are added to improve strength and insulation, ensuring that the hot tub can hold up under pressure and withstand long-term use.
With the basic structure in place, trimming and drilling come next. The edges of the hot tub shell are carefully trimmed to ensure they are smooth and precise. Drilling is done to create holes for the hot tub's plumbing, jets, lights, and other features. The accuracy of this step is essential to ensure all components fit together properly during the later stages of assembly.
Once the shell is ready, framing begins. A strong and durable frame is built to support the hot tub structure. This frame can be made from wood, steel, or composite materials, depending on the design. The frame ensures the hot tub can withstand the weight of the water, occupants, and the mechanical components. It also provides the foundation for securing the shell and installing the plumbing and electrical systems.
Next comes the hydraulic install. This involves adding the plumbing system, including jets, pumps, and filtration systems. The jets are installed into the shell, and the necessary plumbing pipes are routed to connect them. The pumps are positioned to circulate water throughout the tub and power the jets, providing the therapeutic hydrotherapy that hot tubs are known for. The final major step is insulation and testing. Insulation is applied around the frame and plumbing to maintain water temperature and improve energy efficiency. This helps to keep the hot tub warm without requiring excessive energy use. After the insulation is installed, the hot tub is thoroughly tested for functionality. The pumps are tested, the jets are checked for water pressure, and all electrical components are verified to ensure proper operation.
